EXCITING NEW BECKENHAM COMMUNITY CHOIR
Created by Mark De-Lisser, of BBC1’s Last Choir Standing!
Singology has now launched ‘Singology Choirs’ to encourage more and more people to get involved in community singing, which has been proven to increase confidence social awareness and can also be used as a diversionary activity for young people in the community.
Mark De-Lisser, Singology’s director, renowned vocal coach and choir director who led The ACM Gospel Choir to the semi-finals of Last Choir Standing on BBC1 in 2008, has always had a vision to develop choirs across the country and this vision is now coming to South London. “Growing up in South London myself, I really want to start some choirs in this region to sing a wide range of music styles from Pop to Rock, Glee to Soul and Musical Theatre to my personal favorite Gospel”, says De-Lisser. His plan doesn’t stop there. He is keen to have many London choirs in the North, South, East and West of the capital, who all come together to sing in a future planned major extravaganza each year. “I have always wanted to experience and maybe even conduct 1000 voices, young and old, singing in one place and so my desire is that we can make this happen in the London Region bringing all the local choirs together once a year. That would be incredible”, he explains.
Singology will be starting teenage/adult choirs and junior choirs in your area soon with Singology Choir Beckenham being one of many outside of their Singology Central London Choir.
